L.I.F.E. Groups are a very important part of the ministry at Lehman Avenue. This opportunity provides many benefits to the Christians here: they learn to connect and cultivate close, lasting friendships. The L.I.F.E. groups have four major functions:
Love -- We want each Christian to grow more and more in their love for God and others. Jesus Himself said that the greatest command was to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. The second greatest command was to love our neighbor as ourselves.
Involvement -- We want to make sure that the members of Lehman Avenue are involved in serving. L.I.F.E. groups are a place where they can actively participate in the life of the church.
Fellowship -- The church is often referred to as the household of God, or the family of God. When these groups meet together, they share a piece of themselves with one another and serve as a source of encouragement.
Evangelism -- In scripture we are referred to as Christ's ambassadors. Jesus gave His disciples an important commission, and that was to take the gospel to every creature. L.I.F.E. groups follow up with visitors to identify those in need of the gospel as well as edifying members through visitation and mail.
We also have ladies Bible classes at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays in the Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November).
